Mission
The Windward Dog Park Hui (WDPH) is a 501(c)(3) established in 2016. It is comprised of residents committed to creating a fenced-in, off-leash dog park in Windward Oʻahu. The Windward side is the only area on Oʻahu that does not have a dog park. Dogs need a safe, well-maintained environment where they can run, play and socialize. We believe a dog park is a vital community asset that promotes responsible dog ownership and creates positive interaction between dog owners and their neighbors.
Vision
Our vision was to develop a dog park in partnership with the Honolulu City Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). The first Windward Oahu dog park officially opened on December 18, 2024.
The dog park is fenced with separate areas for small and large dogs. It has a parking area, gated entry, grass turf, comfort station with water fountain, benches and mature trees for shade. The dog park was built and will be maintained by DPR. Funds will be raised by WDPH to assist DPR with park stewardship.
