Summer 2023

WDPH has started a fundraising campaign to support a safety mitigation project in partnership with Bayview Golf Course. Hole #7 is being relocated to accommodate shared safety concerns and public funding is not allowable for this purpose. Our fundraiser will cover the costs of hole relocation, a stand-alone issue, so that patrons of the dog park and golf course alike will have an enjoyable and safe experience.  Please consider joining our efforts to get the dog park ready for public use!

Fall & Winter 2023

WDPH received three grants between the Fall and Winter months of 2023 to go toward the Safety Project efforts. Three partnered fundraisers were also held with Panda Express and Kailuaʻs California Pizza Kitchen earning a bit more toward the fundraising goal. While we were not approved for all of the applications we submitted, we are confident that 2024 will brings us more opportunities to find new funding partners.

2024

The WDPH team's efforts continued in 2024 with all project partners working to get the park open for Windward Oʻahu. Recruitment for volunteers and fundraising is on-going.

December 2024

The Windward community's very first dog park opened on December 18, 2024. The Windward Dog Park Hui will move forward with Adopt-A -Park processes to steward this dog park in partnership with the City & County of Honolulu's Department of Parks & Recreation. We continue our fundraising efforts to cover the cost of moving hole #7 at Bay View Golf Course--your ideas and kokua to execute on fundraisers are welcome! Mahalo!
